Review: New Year
It is New Year. The 2012 is gone and the last night of the year is an occasion for celebration, for the reunion to find love or to find forgiveness, second chances and new beginnings. The fates of several couples and single people are intertwined in this year’s farewell to the city of New York as a backdrop.
“New Year’s Night” (see trailer) is the sequel to “Valentine’s Day” (Garry Marshall, 2009) and complies strictly with the same premise as that presented: an important date, a cast full of stars, characters and stories that intersect and comedy romance with the seal of director Garry Marshall (“Pretty Woman,” “Princess Diaries”), to which must be added the Big Apple luxurious setting â € “what to emparienta another romantic comedy film with coral in the same city, “New York, I Love You” (2009) â € “. Thus, coral romcom lovers will find here that another equal dose of sugar and humor buenrollista to large audiences, the perfect formula to storm box office over the next Christmas.

Behind the many stories of love and hate, resentment and jealousy, hopes and dreams that come together on December 31, is the director’s own Garry Marshall, who about 50 years ago was committed on that date with his wife Barbara. So “New Year’s Night” has both personal and collective celebration, to the point where the first movie was filmed live in Times Square New Year’s Eve, with the complications that entails: shooting in a million people and thousands of police cameras spread over twelve roofs and cranes, and the street scene, and do well for eight hours.
On the other hand, are some of the protagonists of these stories cross which also put the soundtrack: Jon Bon Jovi, who plays in the band to a rock star, plays I Can not Turn You Loose, by Otis Redding and Have a Little Faith in Me, John Hiatt, while Lea Michele from “Glee” (2009 -), sing Auld Lang Syne. Despite the bad reviews harvested from the American press, it is difficult to imagine that “New Year’s Night” will not follow the same path of success he enjoyed “Valentine’s Day” â € “which grossed $ 215 million across the Mundoo € “.
